Third-year nursing students at BEUN organized an awareness project to prevent stigmatization in bipolar disorder.
Third-year students from the Nursing Department at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Faculty of Health Sciences organized a volunteer project titled “Life at Two Extremes” as part of their Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing course. The event was held on May 8, 2025, at the Engineering Faculty cafeteria on Farabi Campus.The project aimed to raise awareness about bipolar disorder, highlight the importance of mental health, and reduce societal stigma. Informative posters, an info box, awareness materials, and surveys were presented through a visual board located in a shared campus area. Participants were also invited to write their thoughts about bipolar disorder on a board, offering feedback and reflections. Posters featuring celebrities who have experienced bipolar disorder also drew attention.Reaching approximately 200 students, the event focused on breaking prejudices about mental health, encouraging help-seeking behavior, and introducing psychological support services. Students were pleased with the positive engagement and responses received during the event.
