Faculty Members from Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Paid an Official Visit to Castrop-Rauxel, Zonguldak’s Sister City in Germany
Faculty members from the Faculty of Health Sciences at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) paid an official visit to Castrop-Rauxel, Zonguldak’s sister city in Germany.
Vice Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Tülay Kuzlu Ayyıldız, and Dr. Lecturer Funda Veren visited Castrop-Rauxel’s Mayor, Mr. Rajko Kravanja, in his office. During the visit, the BEUN academics expressed their gratitude for the Mayor’s kind hospitality and conveyed the greetings of the Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer.
As part of the visit, the delegation also visited SLG St. Paulus GmbH / St. Rochus Hospital, where BEUN students complete their summer clinical internships. Meetings were held with hospital administrators, nurses, and physiotherapists to exchange ideas on how to make the clinical training processes for Nursing and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation students more efficient and effective.
These engagements were considered a significant step toward strengthening academic collaborations between the University and Castrop-Rauxel and enhancing international experience sharing.
In a statement regarding the visit, BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer said:
“Strengthening our ties with our sister city Castrop-Rauxel on academic and cultural platforms is of great importance for providing our students with international experience. This official visit by faculty members of our Faculty of Health Sciences is a valuable step toward enhancing collaboration and knowledge sharing. As a university, we will continue to steadily increase such international collaborations. The experiences our students gain abroad not only enhance their academic education but also help our graduates become more equipped individuals on the global stage and contribute to the visibility of our university. With these thoughts and sentiments, I extend my gratitude to the esteemed Mayor of our sister city, Mr. Rajko Kravanja, and his valuable administration, and thank our distinguished faculty members Prof. Dr. Tülay Kuzlu Ayyıldız and Dr. Lecturer Funda Veren for their visit to the city and the hospital, which added value to the international recognition of our university.
